Dear Parents, Supporters, and Friends of Millennium,
Great news! We are thrilled to announce a wonderful new program that will gift our students with even more in-depth arts experiences and creative learning opportunities. This spring semester, we will be launching an Artist-In-Residence program – a unique model for providing more hands-on arts experiences inside and outside of the classroom. By providing access to the arts through direct interaction with artists and creative professionals, we can give our students an “inside the industry” experience not found at other schools.
We will begin in January with a Choral Artist and Director in residence. This will give Millennium students a chance to receive directed vocal training and choral performance opportunities – both in school and throughout the community. As the program grows, future semesters may host teaching professionals in the visual arts, film, game design, performing arts, and other creative fields.
One major key to program growth is funding. Unlike public schools, Millennium is an independent nonprofit. This means that – while we get some public funding – government resources do not cover many of our costs and programs. Anything outside of our basic curriculum costs must be funded through the generosity of our community.
Please support our kids and strengthen their creative education by making a charitable donation to the Artist in Residency program at Millennium.
Our spring semester goal is $5,000 that will cover the stipend for a Choral Director, sheet music and choral supplies, and performance travel costs.
- $25 Warm Up! Funds a semester of sheet music and supplies for one student.
- $50 Do a Duet! Funds sheet music for two students.
- $100 Sing a Four-Part Harmony! Funds sheet music for four students.
- $250 Lead the Choir! Funds a week of choral lessons and practice led by a professional Choral Director
- $500 Let the Music Play! Funds an in-school performance
- $1,000 (or more) Celebrate! Funds a series of public, off-campus performances
Please give before December 31, 2015 so we can plan for the spring semester. Funding must be secured to launch this exciting new program.
