BBrittney relocated to Monterey Bay to live life as a full-time filmmaker and co-founder of HARA Motion Picture Conservatory. As a pioneer in project-based empowering education, she has produced films, television pilots, and web-series with teenagers. Her classroom nurtures the spirit of ensemble in a positive, fun, safe environment and inspires students to share their inherent creativity. Classes specialize in: yoga, meditation, vocal technique, screenplay writing and acting for stage and the camera. Her background as actress in classical and contemporary theatre has influenced the unique curriculum that draws from the following leaders: Meisner, Grotowski, Goffman, Viewpoints, and Lionheart Institute's Energy System of Acting. Mentored by a Designated Linklater Voice teacher, she practices the intensive study of breath and voice from Kristen Linklater's Freeing the Natural Voice/Shakespeare's Voice. Brittney graduated from Cal Poly Pomona University with her BA in Theatre. In Los Angeles, she got her start teaching theatre and playwriting at The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company, The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, and The Virginia Avenue Project.
In addition to teaching, Brittney enjoys producing and directing commercial film projects with House of 8 Media, and has served for 5 years as a volunteer/community outreach coordinator for the Carmel International Film Festival. She enjoys sharing her experience working in the industry with her students. Her favorite film directors are: Penny Marshall, Julie Taymor, the Coen brothers, Woody Allen and Wes Anderson. She credits The Wizard of Oz for inspiring her creative inner world at 2 years old.
